The overview

Great food that was hard to find online

Gordingo’s is a family-owned taco fusion restaurant inside Ecusta Brewery in the heart of Brevard, North Carolina, known for bold Latin flavors, handmade chorizo, and house-crafted hot sauces. In person, they had earned a loyal local following. Online was a different story.

Their website was outdated, slow, and not built for phones, which is where nearly every restaurant search now happens. Search visibility was weak, and Gordingo’s rarely showed up when locals and visitors searched for tacos or restaurants in Brevard. The energy and creativity of the brand simply were not coming through online, and that meant missed tables.

They needed more than a prettier website. They needed to be found by hungry people at the exact moment they were deciding where to eat. That is where Skyland Digital’s restaurant marketing came in.

The approach

How Skyland Digital got Gordingo’s found

  1. 01

    Audit the whole digital presence

Skyland Digital started with a full audit of the website, listings, and search footprint to find exactly why Gordingo’s was hard to discover online.

  2. 02

    Rebuild a fast, mobile-first website

The site was rebuilt as a modern, mobile-optimized website with clear menu navigation, contact forms, and calls to action, designed for the phones most diners search on.

  3. 03

Optimize for local and organic search

Skyland Digital researched how locals actually search, then optimized page titles, meta descriptions, and image tags and built out SEO-friendly content around Brevard food terms.

  4. 04

    Own the map

We optimized Gordingo’s Google Business Profile and kept citations and business listings consistent and keyword-rich across the directories diners trust.

  5. 05

Build authority with content and links

Ongoing local content and quality backlinks strengthened domain authority, so Gordingo’s could compete for the terms that actually bring in customers.

  6. 06

Grow the brand on social and paid

Skyland Digital manages Gordingo’s social media and runs a Facebook paid ads campaign to keep the brand in front of hungry locals and visitors.

  7. 07

    Manage it every week

Website, search, listings, content, social, and reporting are managed together, week after week, through the Visible Growth System.

What it means

A small taco spot competing like a big brand

Across Skyland Digital’s management, Gordingo’s went from an outdated, hard-to-find website to a fast, mobile-first presence that shows up when people are deciding where to eat. Two-thirds of the site’s traffic is now earned through organic search, up from about a third, and the brand ranks first for its own name while climbing for competitive local terms like tacos and food near me. Even through the disruption of Hurricane Helene, Gordingo’s kept growing its traffic and staying connected to the community. The result is exactly what a local restaurant needs: more people finding them online, more of them on their phones, and more of them turning into orders, inquiries, and foot traffic.

  • A fast, mobile-first website
  • Found first for the Gordingo’s name
  • Climbing for “tacos” and “food near me”
  • 68% of traffic from organic search, up from 32%
  • 240% more pageviews, 41% lower bounce rate
  • Consistent business listings across the web
  • Social media and Facebook ads driving awareness
  • Steady growth even through Hurricane Helene
